Boxing Day Charity Football
Villagers are invited to “a feast of family fun and football” – the community, charity soccer match which takes place in Ruddington every Boxing Day.
As usual, it’s being staged by Ruddington Village Colts Football Club at Elms Park – on Monday December 26th 2022 – and kicks off at 11.00am. The teams comprise a mix of Ruddington coaches, parents, players, family and friends.
Organiser Adam Brown, manager of the U13 Girls Sunday squad, says: “It’s a nice day out to support a local club raising money for local charities.”
Coach of the U11’s Saturday team, Lewis Vaughan-Jones, adds: “It would be great to see lots of supporters for this game. We’re wanting to become a bigger part of the community and we’d like to connect with more people in the village. It’ll be a really good couple of hours watching (and of course laughing!) at some local football. It’s a really friendly environment, with refreshments available at the clubhouse throughout the game. We hope to see as many people/families as possible. It’s a fantastic, yearly, community event.”
This charity match, with proceeds going to the Colts, is to be followed by a gathering and fundraising raffle at lunchtime in The Red Heart on Easthorpe Street. Everyone’s welcome.
